Cookie & storage notice

How this website uses browser storage, and the choice you have over it.

Last updated 4 September 2026

The short version

This website stores one first-party preference in your browser: a note that you’ve seen this notice. Nothing optional — no advertising, analytics or personalisation — is switched on by using the site or by clicking “Understood”. The contact form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile for security when you send a message.

The preference this site stores

The browser-storage item andrews-counselling-cookie-notice-v3 records when you select “Understood” and when that acknowledgement expires. It’s stored for up to 180 days so the notice doesn’t appear on every visit, and it isn’t used to identify you.

This item is strictly necessary — it exists only to remember your choice — so it’s set without asking for consent first, in line with UK PECR Regulation 6(4). If this notice changes in a way that needs your attention again, the storage key’s version number is updated, which brings the notice back.

Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to reopen the notice, or remove the preference through your browser settings. Dismissing the notice doesn’t switch on any optional storage or affect the website’s core features.

Tools that may use cookies

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish genuine enquiries from automated abuse. The security check loads from challenges.cloudflare.com and may process limited technical information, such as an IP address, browser details and interaction data. It is used only when needed to protect the form, not for advertising or behavioural profiling.

This site includes Google Tag Manager, container GTM-KWN6WKCD, which manages measurement tags. Loading it makes a request to Google’s servers and shares limited technical information, such as an IP address, browser details and the page requested. That request may be processed outside the UK.

Analytics, advertising and personalisation storage are set to denied before the container loads and stay denied — clicking “Understood” doesn’t change this. Abigail Andrews doesn’t currently use any tag that requires your consent to run; if that changes, this notice and any on-page controls will be updated first, and the new tag will be added to the table above with its own name, purpose and duration. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

What the website doesn’t use

  • advertising pixels or social-media trackers
  • embedded maps, videos, chat or social widgets
  • third-party web fonts
  • CAPTCHA tools used for advertising or behavioural tracking

External links

The site links to services such as the ICO and UpTopWeb. This website does not embed content or automatically load resources from those services. If you follow a link, the destination may use its own cookies or similar technologies under its own policy.

Hosting logs are different

Cloudflare Pages hosts this website and may create access and security logs when it delivers a page. These logs sit on Cloudflare Pages’ systems rather than in your browser storage; they may still contain information such as an IP address, browser details and the time of a request. Read the privacy notice for more information.

If the website changes

If an analytics service, embedded service or other storage technology is added later, this notice and the on-page controls will be updated before any non-essential storage is enabled. For questions about how your information is used more generally, see the privacy notice.
